Zen with Elle, Isle of Wight Yoga

Hi I'm Elle,

I first stepped onto a yoga mat at 17, not for the physical practice but in search of stillness amidst the chaos in my mind. I vividly remember the feeling of taking those first deep breaths - moments of peace I hadn’t experienced in months. At the time, I was struggling with anxiety, and yoga quickly became a source of comfort. Before long, I noticed the strength and flexibility growing in my body, but more importantly, I had found a practice that allowed me to reconnect to myself.

As my love for yoga deepened, I felt a strong pull to share it with others. I talked endlessly about its benefits and eventually pursued my 200-hour Ashtanga/Vinyasa teacher training in South Goa, India. A transformational experience, helping me understand yoga not just as a practice, but as a way of living with kindness and awareness. Over the years, my practice has evolved—sometimes it's a dynamic flow, other times it's simply sitting on my mat, reconnecting with my breath and feeling grateful for all that my body and mind do for me.

I began teaching in early 2024 with a clear intention: to create a space where people can connect with their bodies and minds, leave feeling lighter, and find joy in the process. My classes are rooted in mindfulness and breath awareness, but we also embrace the fun—there’s always room for laughter when a pose doesn’t go quite as planned (or when I mix up left and right!). More than anything, I want my students to walk away feeling more at ease, as though the weight they carried in has softened.

Though I’ve travelled all over the place, the Isle of Wight has always been home. Growing up surrounded by the sea and nature has been a gift that I never take for granted, constantly reminding me to slow down and appreciate life’s small, beautiful moments. As soon as the sun shines, you’ll find me on the beach with my mat, soaking up the early morning tranquillity.

Like many, I’ve faced challenges with mental health and have explored countless ways to feel better (including reading my way through Waterstones’ self-help section!). Over time, I realized that no quick fix could replace the deeper work of cultivating self-worth. Prioritizing daily self-care has been key to filling my own cup, allowing me to show up fully for myself and for others. Yoga has been my anchor through it all, and I’m so grateful to share this practice.

Whether you’re seeking peace, strength, or just a space to breathe,

you are so welcome here.
